imput on swapping out a 4 cilinder FOX with My wrecked 5.0
I recently wrecked my 5.0 and didn't make out to good with the insurence. I kept the car. What would it take to do a complet swap into a 4 cilinder fox and is it worth it?

i dont know about that, i know 89 was the best year to buy for dragging, with have the lightest body of the fox, because of options, and the MAF systems. but other than that, all you need to swap is your entire suspension, everything underneath the hood, driveline, and the cpu and wiring, maybe fuel pump? im not sure on that one. i know it sounds like alot, but with some tall jackstands, this is accomplishable in a driveway in about a weekend with the right tools. after the engine is out, the entire engine wiring harness is cake to take out. just lay out the 5.0 harness the same way you take it out and it will flop next to the right sensors and such.

unbolt your hood hinges from the body and place that aside. next, look at the motor very carefully around the sides, and determine and remove anything that will prevent you from pulling the motor out as in-tact as possible. after you unbolt the tranny bellhousing from the motor, unbolt the headers from the hpipe, and an intake plate can be bolted to your intake, and you chain it to the hoist, and yank that bitch out. even leave the tranny on if you have the room to be able to pull the hoist back. after that, just unbolt the whole suspension from the body, as in-tact as possible, and swap large pieces of it. easiest way. use the 5.0 bolts, not the 4cyl.
