Default Selling house

Ok guys I am in the process of selling my house. I am projected to get over $35,000 cash after the sale, I plan on using some to pay off all bills and then I should have around 15K to 20K left to use as a down payment on a new house and then to save. I am trying to talk my wife into letting me have 5K to put into the mustang. The motor is OK so I may leave that alone I was thinking of going to the underside of the car and taking care of things. I see a lot of rust on the body underneath but it looks like surface rust. My question is should I get it all fixed or just get the major stuff and put some good underbody coating on to take care of the rest. I can't wait to address the suspension it really needs some help.

Man this site rocks

IMO, I would dress the underside to protect from the elements in the area you live in. If you live up North, then you have to worry about stuff like that. We have really mild winters in OK, so cleaning and painting would work fine. 5K will get you a long way on suspension, good luck my friend.

Get some paint thinner, old T shirts and some wire brushes and go at it,(wire brush on a drill worked well for me) it it took me all day to clean the underside of my 92 gt. It takes off all light suface rust, Its a pain in the azz but worth it. Then paint her.

I was referring to the under carriage, underside of the car.

Man that looks good, I wish Minnesota winters were a little less harsh and I might think about just painting it but I think I will use a heavy duty sealer. I sure won't be a show car.
