good deal. welcome...

now let me clear somethings up for you. notch is yes the lightest and the most rigid. however gts arent tanks. there exactly the same as the lx except they have the body kit on them. ppl will argue this all day long but its only about a few hundred lbs heavier... honestly... i wouldnt worry about that. as for your 13s, if your just gonna run them at the track, then go for sticky tires and you should be high high 13s..so long as you can drive. gears will make that 13 goal alot easier too.. w. those two things alone and a good driver you should see that 13 mark your going for. if you dont then look into some suspension work and youll be there.

my stang is a GT and fully stock. it ran a 14.7, w. a 2.303 60 ft time... if i can get that 60 down to 2.0 or 2.1 then that should be a low 14 on its own, again this is on street tires and a fully stock car. <just so you know what they are capable of stock...

hmm great info here guys, thanks! really helping be kinda narrow done what i want to get. There is actually a guy i know that has a 91' GT 5 sp bone stock, (this isnt the black one i reffered to earlier) and he actually ran a buddy of mine that has full exhaust, 4.10's, and A/C, smog removed, and its an auto with a lintech tranny, and the 5 sp kept up, it really surprised me for being stock. anyway the guy with the 5 sp is looking at another mustang and im sure he would make me a deal on the 5 sp he has now, its cleaner than the black one i talked bout earlier and it doesnt have red interior, so this car is more doable for me to buy. and its bone stock so i can do what ever i want to it. so i guess that car is a possibility too.. but thanks for the ideas on mods, i think i kinda have a list in my head i wanna do!

Whatever stallion you pick is a good stallion......
And to get into the low 13's i'd go for a trickflow top end kit, its a complete HCI combo that puts down around 300rwhp, roughly, and with a good suspension setup, and some good tires and gears you'll be there. The kit is 2100, but includes everything.....You'll also want to upgrade supprting mods like TB, MAF, advanced timing, larger injectors, AFPR, and fuel pump.
correct me if I'm wrong but in a fox shouldnt that give you a solid 12?

For 13's all im thinkin is maybe an exhaust and gears, maybe a few other bolt ons but from what I've gathered here 13's is pretty simple to hit.

^ see this is what i was kinda thinking to, you know $2,100 for 13's??? thats why i said im cheap and didnt wanna spend that much. But i knew 13's was easier and cheaper than that. But that kit still does give me an idea of speed per dollar, and who know i might do that later down the road after i figure out that i can live with saying i own a Ford lol.

ok... after you buy the car, how much are you willing to spend to hit a 13?

i say get an extra set of rims (i got two turbines for $50 total), and buy some DRs(MT et streets are ~150 a piece). maybe a line loc to heat them up, but not needed right away i dont think(~150ish?). and grab a short throw shifter(150)... and there you have it... high 13s... total of 500-650... thats not that much money at all... want a more solid 13? get some suspension work... springs, shocks, struts, and some upper and lower control arms... that should show you a low-mid 13 right there...

hmm well if i buy a car thats under $5,000, i can pay that off right away, but then it might take a couple week to save up a bit and start modding... but prolly $1,500 - $2,000 to start off with, thats alittle after i get the car, and still being a very streetable daily driver, but still have fun with it.

sorry i forgot to add gears... 3.55s or 3.73s... most go w. 3.73s, but depends on your street driving habits(highway, etc). all that i mentioned for a low-mid 13 falls into your budget... and if you notice... nothin i said touches the motor yet...

dont worry about the line lock, if you're on a budget and this close to stock, a line lock isnt really necessary. short throw, exhaust, gears, maybe some tires, and you will have a car that can pretty easily turn 13s with a decent driver, sounds good, and you dont even have to touch the motor.
