Default dumb question. don't yell at me for it. WOT

WOT means wide open throttle. i see on most nitrous kits and on some computer processes it refer to WOT. does this mean wide open as far as it will go or is it a range of openess. hope this makes sense. i was curious because that would mean the nitrous only works when it's totally floored. you wouldnt get a power increase for like street driving.

Do NOT under any circumstances activate nitrous unless you are at WOT. WOT mean just that... wide open as far as it will go. If you're screwing around at lower RPMS and don't have the engine runnung at WOT, then you are asking for trouble. The nitrous can pool up in your upper intake. And here is a video showing what happens when you do that.

As a side note...the same thing goes for superchargers. I'm sure you've looked at some on the nice namebrand superchargers that will give you 100+ HP on a stock engine (Vortech, ATI, Paxton.) But unless you are at WOT, you will not see these gains... the boost just hits the bypass / blowoff valve until you hit WOT. Then you get the added HP. So while driving around under normal street conditions, you are nothing more than a N/A car... Only difference you have a loaded cannon waiting to get unleashed
