N/A 306 goes 10.02 @136 mph ALL MOTOR....with a blown head gasket....which prevented it from hitting the 9's.....with a block.

cylinder walls are thicker more meat<means less prone to cracking

^^ Agreed! Less prone to cracking making it hold extra HP then the 302 that come on 5.0's.

Everyone always says they are stronger, but all the reading I've done suggests they are the same, even though they have a higher nickel content. Someone in the past (88stangaruu, maybe) said they have stronger/thicker webbing in the lifter valley.....

If you look at a mexican blocks main caps compared to a roller block they are much larger and thicker. My 68 block has larger mains then my 86 roller motor though and supposedly suppose to handle more hp.

Forget the Mexican blocks and check out the latest issue of 5.0 Mustang. This is the way to go. http://www.worldcarfans.com/news.cfm...engines-return
