hey reefer man... r u out of your f'in mind? (bad info) okay you can read a summit catalog, intake vs. what is commonly referred to as the lower intake in FI applications,(way to point that out jimmy neutron) also what heads are you using? 20-50hp...come on, 15 for a cam, your saying with "your" combo your only making an additional 87 hp.... wtf! Read the carcraft article (thanks for having my back blacklx)... and heres a lil info on heads, http://www.allfordmustangs.com/Detailed/630.shtml, and besides who has a mild 400hp mustang?
you need to go back and read the article there buddy. first paragraph if i recall correctly. youll notice it says the engine is from a 91, and thus a roller block. the 83 is not a roller block. sorry, i dont read summit catalogs, and i have a carbd car, so i dont call it a "lower" intake because there is no "upper" intake like in your car. the original poster also mentioned a budget build, youre not going to find heads that free up a hundred horse unless you want to spend the big bucks. his car also came stock with 175 hp, an exhaust MANIFOLD(not headers)

also keep in mind that in the article they tore the engine down and rebuilt it, slapping afr 165s onto a stock 83 bottom end will net you 50 hp to the rear wheels. go ahead, ask me how i know.

deffinately go with the stealth intake, cheap headers that do the trick are hedmans, i had them until i switched to the long tubers

and like i mentioned earlier, you will deffinately be wanting to switch out the transmission, clutch, and rear end if youre shooting for high horsepower

edit....and by bad info, i was refering to this
ORIGINAL: 7upedition

heads/cam/lower intake/carb.... easy 400hp
easy 400¿ nope. not even close.
