is 3" exhaust to big?
on a 1994 mustang gt with about 325 rwhp all motor and about 400 with nitrous is 1 3/4 with 3" collector full length headers a 3" prochamber and 3" catback too big or is 2.5 more than enough?

i's say 2.5" is sufficient but 3" would be worthy, this is right where the gray area is, i'd go 3" if your going to be adding more power in the future, 350 is what bassani reccomends as the minimum for 3" ....

I take it your using LT'S...2 things you can do
1. is find a set of headers with bigger primary tubes
2. is tune the headers...this can have a great affect on rpm range
all this can be don't with a nice 2.5" exhaust

i'm pretty sure that 3" is for 500 hp range or else that size would hurt you more than it would help you. But 2 1/2 is more than enough for your setup right now. I wouldn't mess with the size until you get done with your mods and see what kind of power your making
