Default Aluminum Heads A.R.P. Bolts

I was told by a local mechanic to go by ARP's specs when torquing down my heads with ARP bolts. I want to put my heads on today though because I work during the week but ARP's office is closed on weekends. Do any of you know the specs I should use for this?

By the way, I've got a p-600 procharger going on too. I dont know if that will make a diff. when torquing the heads.

Damn guys it seems like this should be easy info. to obtain. I've searched the net and this forum for torquing procedure and specs but all I can find is info on stock applications. I have Canfield heads, Fel-Pro gaskets and A.R.P. bolts. HELP PLEASE

generally you torque the head down to the heads spec, not the bolts. the bolts can handle it.

The heads have "Part# 20-450" stamped into them. Keep in mind I'm putting a 12# boost procharger on the car if it makes a diff.

i really have no experience with those heads, so this might not be right, but generally speaking, most heads are torqued between 65-95 ft lbs, depending on the application. small 4cyls are around 65, and big block chevy's and **** usually get around 90, so maybe 75-80 would be good in your case

afr recommends torquing their aluminum heads 70(short) and 80(long)

Actually torque specs are in direct corrlation to the fastner. When torquing a bolt or stud what you are actually doing is putting a certain amount of stretch into it. Different fastners will need different amounts of stretch, depending on the material thay are made from and what they are holding.

Contact ARP and they can tell you the specs.
