anyone know how to quiet a power steering pump down?

ford pumps are notorious for that whining noise, it's caused by air in the system. for whatever reason, even brand new pumps made for fords will do that. your best bet is to have the entire system vacuum bled. ford can do that for you.

One way to quiet it down is to convert it to a manual rack, lol. Have fun in a parking lot. I've seen electric PS pumps, although I doubt they make em for a 302. If your pump is unusually loud, it could be low on fluid, or about to die. Ford PS pumps are freakin loud anyway..

Have them do the power steering flush. I have fix numerous cars by doing this.
