I HAVE A 91 LX WITH A T-5 TRANS AND THE PROBLEM I HAVE IS THAT THE SPEEDOMETER DOESNT WORK
CURRENTLY I REPLACE THE SPEEDOMETER, CABLE AND THATS ABOUT IT .IM TRYING TO FIND OUT IF A SPEED SENSOR
COULD CAUSE THIS PROBLEM.? I KNOW THE SENSOR GEAR CAN BUT COULD THE SENSOR ITSELF CAUSE THE PROBLEM.
ALSO MY COOLANT GAUGE DONT SEEM TO GO PAST 130F.NEED HELP WITH THAT ALSO. THANKS FOR ANY INFO IN ADVANCE.

First turn off the caps!! The speedo is mechanical so no on the speed sensor. You need to see if the gear is rotating w/ the wheels spinning. You can also run the speedo w/ a drill on the end of the cable and see if it works.

well ifound out that my trany gear is not in its correct location(not there). had the trany replace by ammco will take the tranny back

aamco sucks first off i took it to aamco and they held it for alittle over 1 week to tell me i have to drive 40 miles to take it back to the same shop that work on the vechicle, now i have to wait again to have it fix they suck.

at the new shop took only 2 days to fix the gear thanks for all the inputs to my post.

I had a cluch replace in my 4x4 ranger they told me i need new pins in te shifter mechanism an dthey also recomended replaceing the rear main while it was out and they told me i should reallconsider gettting a new trans .they said they heard a slight whine which it did make but has ben maing for 3years now and its been allover the east coast so i got a new cluch slave cylinder rear main seal and neew pin in the shifer paid 700 bucks they gave me a price of 1300 to installe a use djunyard trans with a 90 day waranty . I told tem jsut do the the other stuff forget teh tran well i had the truck for 3 day and i was coning home form work and i went to shift into 5th and i lost all gears exept 4th a R .the shift would only moveinto those gears so i had it toed back to aamco and they said it was nothing they did and they did have to go inside the tras to replace the pins in the shifter which i new was a lie I called the place they got a price for a used tranny they said 400 buck so they were trying to rip me of ffor a tranny . I called aamco back topld them i wanted my truck back they told me they wouldnt give it back utiil i paid $200 for towing I told them to **** off . I end call aamco coriration up told them aobut it they looked into it and they took ther side of course. so use dmy credit card to get my truck back and soon as i go tit to my firends shop i did a stop payment and paid a geto kid 20buck to throw a brick threw ammco's windo at night

Ammco sucks take it to a trans shop that know what they r doing
