1990 Mustang GT Noise when accelarating
Hello, I just bought a 1990 Mustang GT with 103, 000 mile on it. The car is Stock not one MOD done. When driving the car I hear a noise that seems to be coming from the Speedometer Odometer display on the car, It gets louder as I go faster. It does not do it in first gear and when the car is in netural and I rev the engine it does not do it. The car shifts smoothly with no banging or knocking going in to the gears. The clutch is stiff and good. Has anybody has the same problem or give suggestion. Thanks

I live in Rhode Island, It was 60 today. Chirping is a good way of describing it and seems to be coming from that part of the car (Odometer Speedometer display) Is it hard to remove and lubricate?

Sometimes you can reach under the dash and disconnect the cable from the head. The connector can be tricky though. If not, you'll have to pull out the i/p cluster and then disconnect it. Thgen you can pull out the cable from the housing. You may need a pair of needle nose pliers to pull it out. Get some lithium grease or the like, put a light coating the entire length of the cable and reinstall it.
