A girdle isn't going to prevent anything from breaking. I would get the kit with the probe srs pistons. They allow very large valves and camshafts. I think you can clear a 2.10 valve on a srs piston.

its a block stiffening device that bolts between the main caps on the underside of the engine. helps the block stay together and hold more power. either TF kit is great. My numbers are with a street heat intake, track heat heads, and stage two cam. check out the "DYNO numbers" post earlier by NMERRILL. they are with the same exact setup as me, but with a stage 1 cam, and track heat intake. why you go with a CHP kit rather than a DSS kit btw? pistons didnt have to be flycut on mine, I just retarded the cam 4* and it fit with no clearance issues. straight up was a bit too close for my liking
