Thanks bud. I think i am gonna hold off for a bit. I am planning a wedding, and if I got a car now, I would b working on it to convert it over or what ever instead of concentrating on the wedding. plus, alot of my money is going to the wedding.

same happened to me, I went on the sidewalk, missed a telephone pole and almost hit 3 people.

IT HAPPENS VERY FAST, AND TAKES YOU TOTALLY BY SUPRISE.

In the 3 seconds or more it happens , you can do some damage.

A friend of mine had the cruise control malfunction and pulled the accelerator cable to the floor in a second! He smashed into a caravan and crushed his 5.0 from from front to firewall! total BS[>:]

Dealership will not comment

the biggest problem with cutting the key off is you lose steering control(locks) which is no problem at low engine speed because you can cut the key off and right back on to steer again. The problem with stuck wide open is, when you cut the key off and loose steering, the engine has to wind down all the way before you turn it back to the "run" position to steer. If you turn it back to run before the engine winds down, it will start back up. So that could be up to 20 seconds or so with no steering at 30mph. It would be worth a try though.

Sorry about your loss

Wow, that really sucks man. I dont know what I would do if I crashed my Stang [&:] Good thing is that you are OK though and GOOD JOB on wearing your seatbelt! It could have saved your life. But like posted above, cars CAN be replaced (believe it or not lol) but people cant. Good luck with your new project whenever you get around to it. BTW, how bad did the hood to messed up. It looked OK from the pictures I seen.

Sorry about your accident. I have seen some fires that scared the crap out of me. I carry a fire extinguisher, and on my shifter console, I have a fuel cut off switch, that way in case of throttle problems or fire, I can kill the fuel in an instant. I dont know if that would have helped, but we learn from other accidents. Good luck.
