Default 5.0 Clutch

Hey all, I got my car back today, and the clutch decides to hit the floor.. it's making a clicking sound when it hits the floor, and I can pull it back up then press, and bam it hits the floor while clicking on the way down.. anyone got a idea what it is?

Also, before it broke.. it was kind of hard to shift into first and 2nd gear, with the clutch all the way down (only when the car is on). I was at the mall, and I pressed it down and it just hit the floor, we looked and the cable is fine, and then we looked under the dash, and you can see it clicks back like a gun loading or something, and the clutch just rests on the floor until you pull it up bck into place, when you do that it feels like it works, then GIVES out with a snap.

I wouldn't completely trust this guess, but when my old truck did that one time my brother-in-law said it was the throw out bearing. I don't know if this is the case, as this is just a guess.

Yeah, but if so.. I don't think it would make the clicking on the inside.

I agree. Sounds like a broken clutch quadrant. The stock one uses teeth to self adjust and this is made of plastic. Maybe they are worn down. Get on the floor and look up there to see what it is.

Steeda sells this kit for 5.0s. It cost 100. It comes with a new cable, quadrant and firewall adjuster. This kit has a smooth quadrant and the adjust is done manually to your likeing by adjust the **** on the firewall. Steeda kit comes with directions. I got it in my gt. other companys make this kit as well.

you have to diconnect the cable from the clutch fork and from the quadrant. then you replace everthing. The directions have pics. so it helps.
