arrite fellas i think im just gonna go with the explorer idea thanks a lot for your help i'll let you know how it turns out... oh yeah by the way, im also doing 3.73 gears the same weekend i put the upper and lower on so i should have some good news from the track. im hoping for low 13's

Something else to think about... You're already grabbing the intake manifold from an old Explorer. Why noty lose those stock cylinder heads and grab the heads from the Explorer too? You can get yourself a nice set of iron GT40 heads for cheap and they will outflow your stock ones, which are going to be a bottleneck for you soon.

Like I said, I got the eitnre engine for $350... I'm sure you could find a similar deal. When you are done, just toss your stock intake and heads back onto the block and see if you can sell it or even use it as a spare for parts. Either way, you make out.
