Default conv't question

I'm a bit confused....

I've seen people sitting on the back of convertible cars in parades and what not.

Are they sitting on the top? or the decklid?

I have a 87GT conv and the top sits up about 6" from the decklid

And there is about a two feet between the end of the rear seat and the decklid.

So where are these people sitting?

Is it just impossible to sit on the back of a fox convertible?

The top compresses into the vinyl holder in the trunk and they are prolly sitting on top of the boot, which is on top of the cover and stressing the hell outta the 'vert frame, i wouldn't sit on it, but each person has thier own value of thier car... ya know?

Besides the parade is for the 5.0, right? not some *** sitting on one?

I once sat on the back of a mustang conv in a football homecomming parade.

I thought is was pretty darn cool

So, is it impossible to sit on the back of a mustang conv?

I agree that sitting on the frame is bad.

Just a thought, and it would not be comforable, but why not just sit on the top of the seat. Not sure if the seat will hold it, but it would be better then breaking your top.

Yes you can. You just sit on the top part of the back seat. Its plenty strong there and it doesnt affect the top in the least. I had my buddy in the front with me and 3 girls sitting along the edges back there and it wasnt a problem at all.[8D]

This is a good post that is hitting close to home for me as well. Because I will be doing some Christmas parade duty in a couple of weeks with my 88 Cov. And now that I think of it, Im not sure where they are going to be sitting up as well. And I dont want anything messed up as well. Hmmmmm something I need to ponder on too!
