That doesn't really answer my question. I've had orange antifreeze in another car and didn't seem to have any problems but then again that's the way the car came from the factory

One thing that not alot of people know is that a coolant mixture that consists of mostly antifreeze/coolant... i.e 70% coolant/30% water... will actually make your car run hotter than a 50/50 mix.

Also, along the same lines, a 70% water/30% coolant mix will allow the car to run cooler.

Its an old trick that mechanics used to use back in the day... (PRO50SC and 2Kwik might know it )
70/30 coolant/water for winter
70/30 water/coolant for summer..... seriously
Good Info as always Adder, i knew the winter blend was heavier on the coolant because of freezing but had no idea it worked in reverse for the hot summer. makes sense though know that i think about it. [8D]

Antifreeze/coolant also lubes the water pump.

Some cars are built to accept the orange antifreeze. It would most likely foul up your cooling system and motor/heads/etc b/c it thickens when it gets to hot. It makes a film to protect parts when the motor overheats or the coolant is low. I can't see it working properly in a stock-type cooling system in a 5.0.

Alright thanks for all of the info. Since i dont have to worry about freezing down here in AZ where i live, should i just go with about 70/30 water/coolant (anti-freeze)?? Even in the dead of winter, theres almost no chance it'll freeze. Thanks for the info.

the orange shi* doesn't get thicker when it gets hot!!! and if you mix the green and orange it turns in to a jello looking substance, the orange would work fine IF you clean the cooling system the right way, however i think the green works better anyway JMO

there is also additives to protect the seals in your cooling system, dont forget to purge the system when adding the coolant otherwise you will have some big problems. Also a little known fact is that water has a VERY high specific heat (the amount of heat it takes to raise the temp 1 degree) its the best coolant. The green stuff is additives and anti freeze to keep stuff lubed and condition seals and keep it from freezing, plus it tastes good[sm=americanasmiley.gif]

The orange stuff (dexcool i believe) is not uncommon in Chevy and GMC trucks. Stick with the green stuff for your foxbody stang. I've heard not to mix the two. Buy some Prestone pre-mixed 50/50 and add one bottle of Water Wetter.
