Remove the diveshaft
disconnect clutch cable
remove shifter
remove speedo cable
remove the tranny
remove pressure plate
clutch should come out after pressure plate is removed
should replace throw out bearing with your in there and pressure plate
good idea to get the flywheel turned as well

Do not forget about removing the exhaust also. If the rear main seal is leaking it would be the perfect time to change it.

rear main is a great idea, i would change it even if it's not leaking, $20 for that is better than having to replace it later and a new clutch too from the oic getting on it [&:]

oops, I knew I would forget something, thanks for the additional help.
You can do this by yourself, but i recommend you get 1 more person to help, it's much easier, especially this being your virgin time.

+1 i'm a technician ( well in training) and i prefer to have someone help at least to take it out and put it in... how ever if you do it enough you can get the tranny out in about 45 min. if your trying to do a tranny rebuilt at the track so your buddy can drive his car home[&:] "people, don't think about to bring a trailer"

ha ha sounds like that was fun.

I found a bit more info but I am kind of confused about something. Do you have to line up the clutch or something with a special tool?

yes, if you buy a clutch kit it comes with it, it's a little plastic thing you stick in the clutch disc then you but the clutch on with the tool still in it. then bolt the pressure plate to the flywheel and then remove the "special tool" after the pressure plate is torqued, torque specs are the key to a succesful clutch
