Ported GT40s or Aluminum???
Im thinking about getting some new heads. Which route do you think I should go? GT40s or aluminum? I do have a budget. How well do ported explorer gt40 or gt40p perform? How much do you think it would cost to find some used gt40s and get them rebuilt and ported? What are some good aluminum heads that arnt too expensive (less than $1K)? I have heard ported GT40s out flow some aluminum heads, is that true? I did a search but didnt find quite what I was looking for.
Thanks

if you get the 40's get the ones from a '93 or '95 cobra , yes they will outflow/outperform box stock aluminum heads, they cost about $300-$350 used, and you can spend about $600 for better valve springs, 3-angle+ valve job, port and polish on the exhaust and slight port the intakes.
you'll be happy with them, those aluminums from detroit speed are nice too, they are bought out castings from some austarilian company cnc'd by livernois motorsports (thats who owns detroit speed)
