give me about 4-5 hours to answer you. i am leaving in 10 mins to go and replace front and rear main seals, oil pan gasket, and valve cover gaskets in my car.

They aren't hard. When we replaced ours where drilled 2 holes in each side and threaded 2 sheet metal screws into it. We used the screws to pry the seal out. to put the new one in we just cleaned the surface a little bit and put some oil in the groove then slide the new seal over the crank and then used the old seal to tap the new one in using a hammer.

its cake!, the hard part is gettin to it all. pull trans, bellhousing, clutch, flywheel, but to pull the actual seal i just screwed 2 sheetmetal screws on each side of the seal, and used those to pull it out. then clean and install the new one. shouldnt take too long if you know how to pull the trans and stuff. good luck man!

I use a flathead screwdriver and hammer, tapping the screwdriver so the corner cuts in it, then pry it out.

look for oil above where the seal is, your intake or valve covers could be leaking too
