Any of you guys near L.A.? I'm pulling my 351W in the next few weeks to put a 302 back into my '65 fastback because the engine compartment is too tight and it is too hard to put that much power to the ground in that vehicle. The engine was originally built for and spent about two years in an '85 GT.

Crower solid lifter roller cam w/ .547"/.539"
Alan Root SVO (not GT-40, these have the big "D" ports) heads with stud girdle
Edelbrock perform intake (needed because of low profile, but would gain more power with different manifold)
New hooker headers for these heads for a Fox body
Holley 4150 double pumper (700cfm)
forged pistons
balancer and water pump for serpentine setup
forged pistons, blah blah blah.

The only thing it needs is to have the ring gear replaced on the flywheel because the starter dinged some teeth.

It dyno'd 335 rwhp @ 6000 rpm and 394 rwft-lb at 3000 rpm. The intake choked it out on the top end so who knows how well it could do.

Sorry for the thread hijack. Good score on the free engines!

Is it a roller block? What are you asking for it?

The block is from 70 or 71 and it has the clutch boss in the side of the block so I'm pretty sure it wasn't a roller block. As it was explained to me, use a roller cam with a non-roller block it requires some machining. This engine does have a roller lifter cam. It is made by Crower and was custom ground to the engine builder's specs. I have a printout from Crower with the cam specs on it, including lift, duration, valve clearance gap, etc.

I haven't figured out a price yet but it will certainly be much less than what it cost to have built. []
