need some help car won't start
 

ok my 2 days ago just wouldn't start. it did this once when it was cold and all we had to do was boost it and it when good. not this time it doesn't even turn over. all the electronics worked, stereo ect. so i got a new battery to see if that was the problem. put the battery in and still same thing... stereo works and what not but car won't turn over. so i thought the start... i took the starter off my 3.8 and put it in my 5.0 and still nothing. what else could it possibly be? i need help lol

well i tried changing that too... unless i didn't do it right (which im sure i did). or the both of the starter relays or the starters are broken on both car then i don't know guess its time to get someone to come and look at it lol.

when you hit the key, if you don't hear a click up in the engine compartment from the starter solenoid, the solenoid is either bad or corroded.

/\ +1. change the solenoid. they are cheap and pretty easy to replace.

hmm well the one in my lx must be busted too because i tried it in my 5.0 and nothing happened... i put the starter and solenoid and nothing happened... i'll see if i can just buy a new one. just a question but besides the battery what else is hooked up to that solenoid? i know the distributor and some chip thing are connected to the starter. i think on the solenoid i have like 4 or 5 things hooked up to one side and one thing on the other and some little clip on thing the bottom. right? so if its busted it won't make a clicking sound when i try to start it? i know from the inside i don't hear a damn thing happen.

Double check the solenoid and make sure ALL the wires are at the right place. I goofed once and thought my fuel pump died. After replacing it, found out i had the computer hooked to the wrong post. If its wrong, you wont hear anything.
