Default whats so good about maf?

i have a 94 gt vert and this question doesnt really concern my car at all but im just wondering what maf has that sd doesnt

mass air flow electronically controls gas air mix. sd is vac.

Some people think that they are easier to mod. They do accept mods a little better than SD but it is by no means a necessay to have. Major upgrades like cam and heads can throw off the readings and it would need to be tuned.

hmmmm well i was just wondering because everyone says you need maf to mod your car effectively but i was reading a 5.0 magazine and i notice an 800 hp lx fox with sd and i was like ??????? how but i guess i know now

maf is way better for mods, they are way more accurate and respond faster.

yeah, after major upgrades it needs a tune. If you build a complete motor, then you can tune it one time and be done with it. Stock for stock SD cars are supposed to make a little more power but I don't think it is enough to mean anything.

if you were gonna do a complete build why not convert to mass air in the first place? they are more accurate is my piont, they can change the according to the conditions theyre in a lot more quickly than sd.

You do not need MAF and if you have a SD car and do a head/cam swap you just get it tuned as you would with a MAF car anyway.

if i were putting a cam in my car id go with a maf conversion. they are not hard to do and they are deff worth it imo.
