Default Think i found my next stang...

http://boston.craigslist.org/nwb/car/235605129.html

Just wondering what you guys think of this car. I have about 3700 bucks saved up that i was gonna use to build my motor over this winter but i just came across this car and was wondering if you guys thought it was a good deal. i know it needs some work but it will mostly be a strip driven car. only street driving will be the 30-40 mins it takes me to get to the strip. seem like a good deal or not guys?

I don't know...by the descrition, it doesn't sound like he babied it(burn out picture too) Being a 5 speed and now having a "tick" would lead me to think missing gears and over reving it.

If all you want is a track car, take a look at it, but I think I would get yours done first.

Thats what i was thinking. and it is a t-5 so i am surprised it is still alive behind that 351. i know it wasnt babied either but if it was mine.. and gonna be my strip car.. i probably wont be babying it either though... i'm just currious.. if he just noticed the ticking then maybe could be a blown header gasket or maybe the header bolts loosened up?

363ci motor, stage two tw heads, custom grind cam, etc. and only 30lb injectors and a T-5? Seems like the car might need some upgrading. It looks like a good deal but like posted above, I would have some extra cash aside for broken parts or future broken parts... track cars are fun but they cost tons of cash.

yeah, your right. i didnt see it only had 30lb injectors in it.. what would it need for injectors? 42's? bigger? and i saw it only had a 190lph fuel pump, would a 255lph be needed too?

This is sounding kind of fishy...

There is a hole in the trunk (approx. 1" diameter). I assume this was caused by a battery that leaked acid - the car now has an Optima battery

The car needs a new battery.
Aren't those batteries good for like 10 years?

There's absolutely no rust on the car except in the trunk
Hmm, I thought he said the hole was from battery acid?

I'd check it out and drive it hard, it seems kinda sketchy to me, seems like he beat the **** outta the car.

yeah, it's clean. but it is ugly as sin with that body kit. and i hait the teal paint. i liked the other one cause it had a clean body and a 351w already. it was just gonna be a weekend warrior at the strip for me. i think i am gonna stay away from it though. i'll just build my 86 up and have a street daily driver/weekend warrior.
