Hows everyones carb setups holding out... Im wanting to do the 408W and keep it carbed because costs. If I have someone tune it on a dyno Am I going to be able to trust this when I take my girl out for a spin on the weekend with it?

I have fuel injection but there is nothing wrong with a carb. If I was to build a motor, it would be a 408 with a carb.

My race car uses a Barry Grant 650 mechanical secondary. I've used Carter AFB's, Holley's and so called 'Edelbrock' carbs in the past.
I've been using carbs for 40 years on my racer's so I'm not about change.
As I see it, carb is the cheaper way to go.....
My daily drivers both are injected and the injection is the way to go there.....

Got a modified rebuilt Holley 750, manual secondaries, removed choke (hope it doesnt cause many problems this winter). Just bought a Edlebrock Super Victor intake. Will be doing a conversion once I get everything together.

I am getting rid of my FI and going with a Weiand Mid Range Intake, Holley 650 Double Pumper, and a K&N Carb Hat for my TT setup. I can't justify spending a ton of money for a FI set up. This is why.

To carb my car this is what it will take for the major components. These are just the major components.

Weiand Mid Range Intake..........Free off my other motor
Holley DP Carb.........Free off my other motor...all I have to do is set it up for force induction
K&N Carb Hat.................$135
Fuel Pressure Regulator......$100 Max

To completely set up my car with Fuel Injection..........

Victor Jr Manifold EFI Spyder with 90 degree Elbow........$750
Blow through MAF........$250
FMPP 42 lbs Injectors......$375
Anderson PMS............$1200

So lets do the math..............

Carb Switch...............$300 at the Max

Upgrade my FI.........Almost $2700 dollars..........$1500 without the PMS.

You do the math...........

the reason why people have issues with carbs is they pull it out the box and install it with no adjustments..just can't do it and expect no issues..vaccum plays a big role in the carb function
