Fuel PSI?? and Idle Problem ???
Ok i have a 88 gt with MAF conversion and gt-40p heads and trick flow stage 1 cam. I also have 24# inj adj reguator and matching c&l I just got my fuel psi gauge and i set it at 38psi key on. Well i was told that the psi should go up when u hit the gas but mine drops down. So i wanna know if it is or isnt supposed to do that?
My second question is that my idle surges like crazy every once in a while. it will go from about 500-1500rpm and dop this for about a min then will go to about 900. Have no idea why it is doing this. Got a new IAC valve and set the tps to about.98 volts. I was told though i might need 2 check the 10 pin connector and clean the prongs but i dunno if this would help. SO anyone have any ideas what could be wrong.
I also have bad news about running at the track. Before i rebuilt the engine and put the MAF conversion 24#inj, adj regulator,ported intake upper/lower,gt-40p heads,Trickflow stage 1 cam,crane 1.7 rockers,pullies and a few other things i ran a 9.1 in the 1/8 mile. It only had headers and flows. I went last week with all the new mods listed above and ran the same exact time??????? I am really pissed i have no idea why this is. Maybe it is fuel related but i have the timing at 14 deg. But when i would launch the car kinda bogged then went back up in the rpms. So i really dont know what would cause me the run this slow. I know im not that great a stick but i still should have gained some speed prior to adding all those parts and a rebuild. BTW has stock gears and 17in rims. before had 15's so i dont know if that makes a huge difference. anyways sry for the length. O my 60fter was 2.1 sux ***. before it was a 2.2. NO Traction. Well any ideas on the cause or how to fix my problems? thnx Craig

No one has had any of these problems before???? Man this sux i need to get this fixed and dont have the money yet to take it somewhere any ideas at all plz. thx

well i know with stock gears and a stage 1 cam u r gonna run ****y with that cam u need 3.73's, stock gears suck that is why it bouggs down also the 17's dont help at all, especially if u got crappy tires. as for the fuel pressure prob id expalain it but u might get confused so just go here

Plus he doesn't say what the difference in the weather, if any, was between the before and after passes at the strip. weather has a lot to do with how a car performs.
Anyway, that is a good article on that website!
