Expert advice on HCI - the I
Alright so soon I am about to dump my GT for about $6400 in a couple days. I am looking to spend less then $2000 on my engine in my notch. First I want to know what intake to go with: GT40, TFI, Cobra, (maybe typhoon). Heads (really want aluminum, is it worth it?) I know many are going to ask for the application, and I just want more hp, looking for 250rwhp atleast. Unfortunately it is an 87 so no MAF so I don't want to do a cam until later down the road.
What I have on the car right now is just 3.73s, and BBK shorty headers, and 65mm BBK tb. I want to really get GT40 intake because they look so damn awesome and look efficient, then the heads I am unsure of what is the best yield for price/performance. Also should I get 24's injectors if I get heads and intake? Anyhow I wont be making a move until atleast a week from now so I have time. What do you guys all think. I really would like to spend less then $1200, but I know to get a GT40 it is atleast $500. Also does anyone have a comparison chart between heads and intakes?

Well since I am not getting a cam I plan to make my own set, maybe trickflow intake and some aluminum heads, unfortunately not looking to cam it. I have really just thought about buying a built motor probably about the same price.

if your going to limit yourself like that, go with the gt-40. i have a gt-40 but its not for sale and adder wnats it so if i was to get rid of it itd goto him. its the gt-40 from a lightning 1st gen, its the tubular one for the 351. but go with the gt-40 and if not that go with the edelbrock or if your doing the least costly way typhoon.
