Default backpreasure

ok, so i no these 5.0s need a little backpreasure to work well, and to keep ur lowend torque. correct? so the question is w. an off rd hpipe, and slps... ill have like no backpreasure whatsoever will i? or will that be sufficent enough to keep my torque at low rpms?

It's a myth that backpressure is good for torque. In only one respect is this right - it helps scavenge spent exhaust gasses at low rpms. And this is only a factor on engines with overlapping cams. Any factory forced induction vehicle will have a cam with little or no valve overlap so any backpressure is a bad thing. For what we use out cars for - backpressure should be considered only a bad thing. Anything 3psi or more will make your vehicle lack power, run rich, spark knock or even misfire. The cats are typically the bottle neck in your exhaust. Any system that does not include those expensive stinky little pieces of emissions crap will likely not be too restrictive
