its your gear inside the tranny it connects to your speedo cable i just replaced mine. its probably stripped in the inside of it.
you have to order it from a ford dealership.
its easy to replace3 id recomend lifting your car though so much easier!
no you don't..any place like mustangs unlimited, 50 resto or cj pony parts and the list goes on and on will have such

i replaced my cable and the little plastic gear that goes on that cable into the tranny and it still happens. only 2 things i can still guess are bad, either the plastic ring gear inside the tranny or whatever is inside the instrument panel

trust me it's a bad head unit..I have two that do that sitting on my bench
