Default One tough stubborn rack

I'm replacing my rack and pinion with a new one. I've got everything undone except the steering column won't let go. I loosened up the nut at the end of the shaft but can't get it to let go. I also can't really get to it to tap it with a pry bar or big screwdriver. Anyone have any experience forcing the rack to seperate from the steering column?

Default RE: One tough stubborn rack

if your talking about the "nut" at the end of the steering shaft where it attaches to the rack... its actually a bolt... and you need to remove it
