go SEE A CHIROPRACTOR ASAP, give em your claim number your entitled for free and will get more money, obtain a lawyer first.
My uncle did that and came out car fixed and $4,000, leags fees and chiropractor paid, you did take a whiplash and they will try and settle before any signs of pain from accident starts to show

You got lucky and thats what matters most. Keep minding your back, mine gets sore rather quickly if im sitting for too long since my accident.
I had my entire subframe forward of the strut towers kicked to the left a good 6" on both sides after a hit and run. Snapped both motor mounts and cracked a weld on my K-member to boot, OUCH! I got a check for $7000, damages were $8000, how convenient. They totaled it based on the damages, not the year or mileage. I bought her back from salvage for a couple hundred and im still drivin her today after only about $6000 in repairs. And to think, she was scheduled to be put to pasture.
For me atleast the insurance company psid what they thought the car worth before the accident. I got lucky as i just had the Stang detailed inside and out the day before which i know helped me greatly and didnt have more than 90k miles or so. Last i checked, she booked around $3-$4000.
As for your baby, rebuild her, it all sounds minor in comparison.

vt89gtvert wouldnt your car be 4 years older since his is a 93? Anyways even if they dont total it (which they prolly will since it has body damage in the quarter that cant just be swapped out) they usually let you choose if you want it fixed or want them to send you the money it would have cost to fix.

I had the same situation happen to me, except I got T-boned. I was so mad I bent the steering wheel trying to get out of my door, which I couldn't. I had just spent the day waxing the car and polishing the rims and engine. They took it to a body shop and deemed it totalled. I have a 93 and it had about 50,000 miles on it. This was back in 2000. They said it was going to cost twice as much to fix the car than it was worth. That was not good news, my insurance company helped me out by being a middle person for me and HER insurance company. I told them that if they do not fix my car back to the way it was, which was perfect, then I will so them for enough money to get it fixed plus for all of the hassle. Heck, the frame was even bent. 3 months later, I drove my car home from the body shop. I feel sorry for the rental I drove. Stick to your guns, this is why we have insurance. You shouldn't be out just because someone else messed up your car, espicially a rear end collision. Good Luck
