So i go to the junkyard to get a wundow motor and i stumble across an early 97 mountaineer. I pop the hood and to my suprise the engine was still there!! So long story short i scored an explorer/gt40 intake, gt40 (not gt40p) heads, and the newer style explorer injectors for 100$

I am going to use the intake but sell/trade the heads. I have a freshly rebuilt set of 69 351 windsor heads that i am going to use instead. Now all i need is a decent shortblock and i can get my 89 coupe project runing. I planed on a budget build and have yet to pass 1000$ including the price of the car!!

Damn, nice find! I did nearly the same exact thing last Saturday, except I took teh entire engine. Paid $350 at the junkyard for a turnkey Explorer Engine. Cleaned up the intake and heads and I plan on using those. I've got the block completely stripped and I'm going to clean, rebuild, and paint it and then most likely try to sell it.

i'll trade you a full car for your heads. lol.the car has an aod, 8.8 indipendent rear suspensionwith posi and a 5.0 ho with maf.
if not i got a sub amp and box i will trade you with the amp install kit.
