Default I'm almost to the point with my car...

That I can start putting on go-fast mods!

Went to my uncles this weekend to work on my car. It now has a king cobra clutch, new flywheel, pilot bearing, u-joints, polyurethan trans mount, and a BBK offroad x pipe (sounds mean as hell). I haven't had any bearing scraping or driveline clunks yet (in about 100 miles of driving).

Now I can FINALLY start saving for some gear labor money .

Some questions though...are the clutch cables adjustable or are they self adjusting? Do clutches have a break in?

clutches have a break in period of 500-1000 miles

cables ... some are adjustable, some are not... however thay are not self adjusting

you should have installec a 3 piece clutch adjuster kit while you had it apart... quadrant, cable, and firewall adjuster

Is the quadrant the arm inside the bellhousing or the pedal assembly?

Damn the break in period...I guess I can't be too hard on my car . The king cobra clutch has a lighter feel than a stock clutch.

quadrant is the part by the pedals under the dash. adjustable ones are a solid piece -- no spring -- and typically have 3 hooks to put the cable on to adjust length. adjustable clutch cables help SOO much. i love mine.

the quadrant is the plastic piece under the dash, the clutch fork is the part your talking about. its where the cable attatches to in the bellhousing

i would get that done pretty quick because after the break in you will have to adjust the clutch again, and the only way to do that is w/ those parts. you should really have the parts in there. you dont want to screw up your investmetn in your new clutch, and have to go out and buy yourself a new one. just my $.02

ugh they're expensive.

How can not having one screw up the clutch? The only thing I would think would happen is the clutch cable maybe coming loose.

btw I had my clunk in reverse tonight ...so I know it's not my trans mount or u joints...what else could it be? happens when I let out the clutch.
