Anyone know about this?

I've been working on my car all day and I noticed that the motor is not centered in the engine bay. It seems to be about 2 inches closer to the passenger side of the car. I'm just wondering why this is because it seems like it would make more sense to center the motor and balance out the weight. With the upper intake off I measured from the strut tower to the center of the lower intake and measured 18 inches on the passenger side and 20 inches on the drivers side.

Thanks winemaker. Does that mean that the rear end is not symetrical?
