Is There No Good Fans Out There???

I am having problems with getting a fan to work in my car. I have a vortech s-trim in it and am having clearance problems. I had a black magic in it and the charger pulley got into the fan blades and destroyed it. I need some advice and some suggestions. That fan didn't really keep the car that cool to begin with. So I bought a Lincoln Mark VIII fan to put in it, but it is about a half an inch deeper than the black magic. So that damn thing won't work. I was trying to keep the car looking stock, so I didn't want to have to get a cowl hood but I think that's what it's going to come to, if I can't get a fan that is small enought to fit and have a higher cfm rating than a black magic. Any help i can get would be much appreciated.
Thanks, Jason

What year and are you running a cog pulley set up. Usually, clearance isn't a problem.

you might need to get an offset fan and sit it off to the drivers side

Why would you have to get a cowl hood because of fan clearance?

I had a similiar experience with the Mark VIII fan with one of my setups. You can actually shave about 1/2 of an inch off the shroud to make it fit. I hope this helps.

I am having cooling problems with the black magic fan. It doesn't pull enough air to keep the motor cool. I tried to shave the shroud and it still won't work. I didn't want to go to a cowl hood because the car is a complete sleeper except for when the motor is running. I wasn't sure if anyone knew of a shop that builds small but powerful fans. I don't want to go to a pusher, because then I would have to take the a/c out and I kind of like it when it's 100 degrees with 100% humidity. Thanks for all your help.
