Default Converting To Carberated

I have a 93 LX 5.0 302 and i want to get rid of the EFI and go to Carburated, what do i need to do, to get this swap done, and is it all that difficult, i was lookin at GT40P heads, does that change anything intake wise, and what is a good carb to start with, i was thinkin a Edelbrock, but i figured id ask here first, i tried searchin and i have found some info but nothing specific.

thanks john

you need an 4bbl intake, 4bbl carb, fuel pressure regulator to bring the fuel pressure down to like 3 lbs for the carb and you need to plug the fuel return line

GT40P heads require the GT40P style headers for clearance from the strut towers...

My guess would be that any small block ford manifold would work just fine. It might be like the vortec heads for chevy where it would need a certian type of manifold because of the bolt pattern.

I always ran about 10-12 psi on my carbed engines. Any SBF intake will work. I'd keep the return line and put the regulater in it. You'll have to devise a "log" or some many to feed the carb and keep the return line. Match your carb to your cam & heads, don't go too large.

You can go larger than any will say. But you have to know how to tune it. I dunno' about edelbrocks, but Holleys are quite tunable. Plus you can get a Predator carb. Those are one size fits all, variable venture style. Up to like 950cfm.

Ford racing style manifolds wont work. Unless you do more modifications. There is no place in the manifold for your radiator hose.
