can anyone tell me what type of heads i have? the only markings on them are "M6048E35"

Iron, aluminum?......that number has a resemblance to the part numbers used by Ford Racing....theirs are M-6049-xxxx, you may want to give them a call.

they are iron heads. so they are made by ford racing?

i do just wont be able to load them till tomorrow but i can try to explain them. they look just like the factory heads except the ports are about 50% bigger and they have no freeze plugs on either side.

are the heads off the motor or on the motor still? if they are off the motor you should flip them upside down and look for more numbers because there should be more then just those numbers on the heads... look at the front and back of the heads, are there any bars? they might have 3 or 4 bars on the fronts of the heads.

nope nada!the only markings are those and it says "92"in between the first two valves???

on the underside of the hed.. where the exhaust ports come out of the head..on the bottom side of the ports there should be numbers.. like.. E7TE.. or D0OE.. or something along those lines.. they may also say either gt or gtp...if you can post pictures of them it will be alot easier to help you.
