All ppl I have talked to w/ harwood hoods say they leave alot of extra material on the hood the needs to be trimmed and bondoed.
I want a hood w/ no preping or trimming just something that lays perfect
no what I mean

You should never have to trim a hood made like these. Bondo aint going to hold on the edges of fiberglass. These things have rolled edges, and are formed even on the under side. If you trim, you will expose the mesh, and it will cause your layers of fiberglass to splinter and fray out. If you have to do anymore than light sanding on the top epoxy layer, return it.

Just a side note.....are cowl hoods ok to drive in the rain and should I put hood pins on it?

Most FI cars are safe with just about any type of hood. You will get less water under your hood with a cowl hood... I would only get pins if the latch got messed up. Which it shouldnt if you take care of it. I mean, you could get a cheaper pin on hood if you wanted pins. Thats my opinion...
