So i have looked around and havent found any guide to regearing the t5 that came stock in my car, yet everyone says to regear it. What type, spec, and brand of gears would you guys recomend?

do you mean changing the gears inside the tranny? i heard the t5 that came in the 4cyl cars was geared lower.

not the tranny the rear end.

but what type of riding do you do. for the 1/4 mile i would get 3:55 or 3:73 and for the 1/8 i would get 4:10 or 4:30 also depending on how big your tire is.

if you ride highway, stick with the 3:55 and 3:73

i dunno where you heard that -- i've always heard 4.10's for autos, 3.73's for manuals. i had 3.73's in my 87gt, they were a bit steep for highway/interstate. 3.55's are perfect for a fun dailydriver in my opinion

i think he means the rear end. get a 3.73 for a manual and 4.10 for an auto if you're not sure what to get, you'll be happy with those.

for the rear end, sorry.

Its my DD and i want to gear it so that it will be faster in 1/4 type accel, seeing as thats about what ill be doing if i actualy race on the street or at the strip.

What is stock? And is it the lower the number the taller the gearing? I dont know much about this so...yah.

i like 4.10's in my 5-speed

over 21 mpg on the freeway, pulls stumps, tachs about 3000 @ 80 mph

but you can also regear the t5, 2.95 super alloy gearset. will tame down the 4.10's a bit in 1st gear , but keep you optimal through the rest of them. personally i like it it w/ the 3.35 1st
