Default Ford or Motive Gears?

Are the Ford gears worth the extra money? I have also seen two different grades of motive gears and I want to know how they stack up against the ford racing stuff

Yes, but the ford. You can get them cheaper than you think. Just have to look around.

gene evans ford down the road from me has the ford 3.73 for under $150, i was told that the ford gears require less shimming during install but I also heard that ford gears were made by motive, but I dont know if thats true.

FRPP for sure, I also have heard the rumor that Ford and Motive work together to produce gear sets, but i haven't seen any castings or gears with both names, if its the case I bet $ Motive's are made in China and FRPP are Canada or USA....
