Default Fix trac-lock and new gears

So I've decided to upgrade my 3.08s to 3.55s.

I am also only spinning 1 tire, and with the mods I have, it aint workin too well.

I'll work on just about anything, but rears arent my thing. So I have called around and the local places want 750-850 to put in gears and put new clutches in the trac lock, all parts included. Does this seem a bit high?

I can almost get a set of AFRs to replace my gt40s for that...
Is it worth that kind of money?

Well, you definetly want to get your trac-lok fixed and for the gears. IMO Im not sure if its worth it to go from 3.08's to 3.55's. You will feel a difference but I couldnt image much. Why not a steeper gears? This car isnt your DD is it?

If not, I would go with atleast 3.73's. I just went from 2.73's. to 3.90's and WOW, its SUCH a difference!

Ohhh Ok. Well, its hard with gears because everyone has their own personal opinion. I wouldnt go with 3.55's but thats just me. Do you have any friends with stangs? any with 3.55's?

my vote is to do the install yourself. that way you know it got done correctly. even the highest paid techs can screw stuff up and not tell you. i was a little scared to tear into my rear end when i got my auburn but it turned out to not be so bad.

man no one has any faith in any shops anymore. ok, at my shop, if **** gets broke, we pay for it. if something goes wrong, the cust. get informed, and given a loaner. everyone here that keeps bitching about shotty overpriced work, go somewhere else.
