Default driveshaft bolts

recently bought a 5.0, 89 fox body, grinds going into 2nd. gear real bad. i went to pull the transmission to have it rebuilt, and hit a snag right away. i cant get the 4- 12mm, 12 pnt. bolt that hold the driveshaft to the rearend to brake loose. hoping someone out there can give some advice. thanks john1614.

Is it striped? If not get some WD-40 let it sit in. Get a peice of pipe put it over the wrench to make it longer, therefore you can apply more torque. If all else fails put some heat on her. Get a tourch and tourch it.

It will come loose.

I have a bit of advantage dealing with these, but what I use is a 12pt 12mm socket with a wobble extention and a 1/2 inch drive inpact gun. Never had any problems getting them loose.

they use lock-tite on them from the factory. a 12 point boxed end wrench or as said above a wobble or a swivel socket with a impact gun work well.

If you're limited on tools, then you need to use a 12mm wrench as said above with some liquid persuation and heat. But if you have an imact, even a 3/8" drive works, a 12 point 12mm impact socket/swivel combo to break her loose.
