three 5 volt signal from my tps
i'm trying to get some info about my tps. form what i know there should be one 5 volt supply one signal and one ground. but when i check my 91 5.0 lx (koeo) all i have when i use a body ground is 5 volts at all of the wires and my idel is going crazy (from 800rpm to 1500rpm).think i have a cross short what do you guys think? any info would help. oh also this is connected to the harness and i replace the tps sensor with another one but its not the adjustable one(just factory) and the outcome is the same.

i had to go that route before. enlongate the holes. it's a quick fix i think in the long run you should replace it because the little tab thing inside is worn too.

Ill explain for you,
the TPS is not but a variable resistor, it takes the 5.0 volts and reduces it to .099 at idle provided you have it adjusted that way(green wire.099).
As you hit the gas the resistance becomes LESS and moves you higher to the 5.0 reff voltage scale.
If its showing 5.0 without you being at FULL throttle(even if that high of voltage is even possible at full throttle), you have NO resistance, aka TPS SHOT[:'(]
