i love the powersteering in my car. absolutaly no noise and it is the easiest turning wheel on anything ive ever driven. i wish you guys could feel it, its amazing.
Go to a dealership and drive a Buick Lacerne (or whatever they are). I cant even BELIEVE how easy it is to turn the streering wheel, a two year old could turn that thing with ease. I have driven bwm's, mercedez, etc. and nothing feels like it.

i put the synthetic fluid in my power steering and it got rid of the whine after a week or so. had to keep flushing it with the synthetic but once it was ALL the new stuff the whine was gone. oh, and i used to have a 1973 dodge dart that you could steer with one finger it was sooooooo easy.

rack and pinion shouldnt be "too" easy to stir. its supposed to take some force to turn the wheel

mustangs have a 2.2 lock-to-lock ratio which is relatively quick

the GM style re-circulating ball setups turn like butter. its actually scary u can let go of the wheel and it will continue to turn depending on the roads curves and grooves.

tire compound plays a MAJOR role too

my 2 cents
