Also, I agree with running it under the car, it will be alot easier. And samseed, I agree with taking the paint off. I have been doing that with all the ground I have been doing lately on the car during the wiring process. I just take my cut off wheel and just rub it against the frame (or wherever) so it takes all the paint of and down to bare metal.
They sell a spray that'll keep the area free from rust or corrosion, its usually green or red, can't remember the name though. It can be had at any autoparts store. Also you should keep the ground to the firewall...good luck, any updated pics?

Nah, no pics at the time because I lost my camera and Im using my friends. When I get home tonight I am hooking up my new MSD coil, deleting the charcoal canister (if I get the right answers to my question, PLEASE check out my thread either on this page or the next), hooking up my battery relocator kit and hopefully putting my fenders back on.... loooooooong night ahead of me. I have been putting 5-6 hours into the car for the past three days and atleast another one to come. But its definetly worth it.

i ran my positive cable in the car, i tucked it under the interior 1/4 panel, unbolted that big flap that latches the rear seats and ran it under that, took the seat bottom out to tuck it under the other side, took the trim piece along the bottom of the door opening off and ran under that, took the kick panel off and went under that and through the rubber plug that went out to the inside of the fender by the cruise control motor. i didnt do the ground cable yet, i couldnt find a spot to drill a hole and get a bolt in because of the gas tank, i dropped the tank out the other night and will be finishing that up hopefully tonight.

Also, for whoever has done this. Did you have to drop the tank to mount the box? Just wondering because I was reading a tech article on how to do this for a 99 GT and they said that they had to drop the tank and I wasnt sure if it was the same for a 5.0... any comments? tips, etc?

i had to, if you look under the car there is no space to do anything under there w/out dropping the tank.

My block is grounded to the frame by a braided ground strap bought from Summit
Ran the pos cable through the firewall, inside the car under the carpet into the trunk
Battery in the trunk grounded to the inner trunk panel.
battery secured by hold down mounted on the left side so it doesn't interfere w/ the tank.
Done

I'd get to the auto supply and get a cable (2 gauge) a that's just long enough to go from engine to frame........
Use that as well as existing ground........
