Battery? Alternator?

Battery? Alternator?
I just replaced the alternator, brand new battery and new battery cables, and the amp meter in my car is still showing in the red, like when i trun on my lihgt or the heat it goes down a little bit, i dont know what ells it could be, this is really dumb, can anyone tell me what is going on or could be going on???!!! By the way i drive a 89 GT Vert.

at idle my charge is 11-12sometimes less when i get the revs up to 2000 or more the chargegoes up i dont have underdrive pulleys. my batt is dead in the am twice in the last month???????

sound like a bad ground and youalso might have a open circute someplace whule vehical is running pull out fuses for different acessories and see if you amps increase

I ran into this on a customers car a couple years ago. Instead of throwing parts at it, take it somewhere and have it checked. there could be a powerfeed somewhere not getting juice. This particular one I ran into, there was a break in the cluster for the amp gauge. it runs through the gauge then to the alt.
