Default New clutch cable snapped after a month.

anyone have any recommendations as to a good, strong clutch cable? i guess my mechanic tossed in some CRAP that snapped on me yesterday, 30 miles from home. I'm looking to buy a kit with a new quandrant + fire wall adjuster. decent brand to get?

if a 3 month old cable snapped, either it was a defect or wasn't installed properly.

AGREE! I had a steeda, and the outer lining broke after only 2 months,I lost the clutch in heavy city traffic, and steeda wouldnt warranty it. I went with a stock one, and had no trouble since.

I've always heard that OEM is the only cable that's not just a toy. I tried an Autozone number as just good preventative maintenance. It immediately felt so horrible, that I took it out and stuck the original back in. When it comes time to replace it, I'll shell out $80, or whatever the dealer asks, as I have no time for laying my head on the brake pedal every couple of months, and swapping out aftermarket junk.

i put in a king cobra clutch, so it was significantly harder to press. though everything was fine at first, it soon started clicking at 90% disengagement. it kind of snapped little by little, i think? the wires are peeled like twizzlers, if that makes any sense, lol
