3.55's or should i go higher?!
<--- desperately need to switch out the stock gearing that came with the AOD, its killing me off the line! My friend who has a black 5.0 claimes that 3.73's are the way to go if your going to just be tooling around town with no serious track endevors. He explained that with his 331 stroker mated to a AOD + 3.73's he was barely slower than when he replaced his gearing again with 4.10s.
My question is this... my new car came with a set of 3.55's in a box that previous owner was going to install but didnt get around to doing. They are cobra 3.55's with 1500 miles on them. To me, they dont seem steep enough for the AOD as my Camaro had 3.55's with a six speed and i felt i wanted more gear. I DEFINATELY want the most bang for the buck, so gas milage aside, what do you guys think?
P.S. I know a step up in gearing means a step up in heat, any trans coolers that you guys would recommend? LOVE THE FORUM!!! thx for your help!

4.10 all the way
gas mileage probably wont even be effected but your transmission is going to see more frequent use. tranny cooler + shift kit are significantly cheap upgrades
