Manual Or power steering?!

RE: Manual Or power steering?!
I would go with manual. The reason a power steering car is so hard to turn when it goes out is because of the fluid inside. If u kept the stock power rack and just took the pump off and drained ALL the fluid out of it it wouldm't be too tough to turn. It would be tougher then the Flaming River rack though.

Manual is definately different for somebody who has never done it, but definately not something to worry about. I actually driving a car with manual steering. There is just something about it.

u get more feel for the road. ive driven dozens of older cars without power steering. they were usually big heavy cars with smaller tires upfront making it plenty easy to turn.
i know some cars dont even have the option for p/s (some del-sol's)
it would just seem weird to me but im interested in it because i have alot of play and ive heard nothing but good things. my 5.0 is a daily driver. rain, snow, or shine.. she gets driven... hard

like what are the advantages of manual steering over power steering...i would assume power is just easier, but what are the differences

manual steering is easy. i have a flaming rivers rack and love it.
a manual rack is different then a power rack when the motor is off because the manual rack was meant to be a manual, the "dead" power rack wasnt. your pumping all that fluid so its much harder trying to turn the wheels when a power rack is in and the motor is off.
the converstion is very easy. just pull all the power sh*t out and stick the manual rack in

okay so manual frees up a couple horsepower, and just bolts right up like the power rack is except you can lose the pump and all the lines? and steering would be just like steering a power rack car that is turned off but a lil easier?
