Default speed density ?

I have few question about this. First my car is a 90 lx hatchback 5.0, and I just thought that the MAF started in 88? maybe all he cars werent MAF yet, i dont know. And second, is a speed density system supposed to have any screens in the cold air tube like a MAF setup?

your car should be a maf car. maf started in 89 for all cars, 88 for cali models.

hmmmm, i know the previous owner put a Mac CAI on it, and it dont have(or didnt get put on) the sensor on it and i thought that was weird anyhow. I couldnt really find the wiring harness for it either. If it was a MAF before, is it hurting it any now without it?

you would have to make several changes to convert it from maf to sd. do you have a pic of your engine bay?

No theres not a sensor at all, which i noticed when i bought the car, didnt think much of it. Its a Mac CAI kit, with a two piece tube, and it should be right between the 2 tubes where they connect, but its not. I agree with you, i dont know who would change a MAF to SD, but hard telling.

look at the computer, its behind the kick panel. not sure what the codes are for the sd computers, but check fordfuelinjection.com, they have a huge list of the all the #s on the computer itself and what they refer to
